Islamic after-school classes (Maktab) are supplementary educational programs offered to children and teenagers in many Muslim communities around the world. These classes typically take place outside of regular school hours and focus on teaching the principles of Islam, including the Quran, Hadith, Islamic history, Fiqh, & Aqidah.

The curriculum utilizes new, unique books that were developed on the basis of the standards and the focus of the program. In some areas, the classes may be designed to reach the requirements of taking national exams, such as the major and minor subjects (math, science, English, etc.). The curriculum is designed to be engaging, challenging, and enriched, focusing on topics like Islamic ethics, jurisprudence, and spirituality.
